Environment Day

Room 2 and 3 had a wonderful time making and creating with reuseable junk. The children designed what they would like to make. They also had to decide how they would join their creation together. Some children decided that they would paint their creations when they were finished.

Others made some creative art works straight onto a cardboard base. We all had a neat and very busy time.

Henry and Jacob are busy with the glue guns.

Mitchell and Kobi are busy creating their masterpieces.

The children in Room 2 and 3 are very good at knowing how they can reuse, recycle and reduce rubbish and they will be a wonderful help around the school while we are getting used to the new reducing rubbish scheme. Watch out for some stories on the environment notice board coming up soon.

Keeping Ourselves Safe

Gary Milford has been visiting Room's 2 and 3 over the past couple of days. We have been looking at where we live and phone numbers to help keep us safe in emergencies. We have been discussing places and times that we feel safe, and what feeling safe actually feels like!! The opposite to this is feeling unsafe and frightened so we have discussed and written about times we have felt unsafe and what our body does when it feels frightened. We will be covering more K.O.S activities over the next couple of weeks as well as visiting Harlod in the mobile classroom.

Goal setting in Room 2

We have had a goal setting as a focus this term. All the children have had to decide on a small achievable goal. They had to choose an academic goal and a personal goal. These are on display in the classroom and in their Guide to the Goals of the Galaxy Booklets. We will be discussing these goals at parent meetings next week. Some children are even ready to start thinking about their next goal already. We have several reflection times during the week to discuss how our goal is progressing. Some have found that adjustments have needed to be made to help achieve their goal. This is all part of the focus on self management throughout the school.

We also have a classroom goal that gets changed daily. Each morning we discuss and and why this goal has been chosen and how it can be achieved together as a group.
